Two hundred fifty-nine new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Saturday, Jan. 9 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 7.6%, according to the NYS Department of Health.
On Friday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 2093, an increase of 282 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 147, a drop of 4.
There were 7 new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.
Over the previous seven days, an average of 2,699 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 36%, hospitalizations were up 37% and there had been 56 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
