Two hundred seventy-three new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 12.1%, according to the NYS Department of Health.

On Monday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 2,289, a drop of 62 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 164, an increase of 2.

There were 2 new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.

Over the previous seven days, an average of 3,062 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 53%, hospitalizations were up 60% and there had been 60 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
