Two hundred fourteen new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Sunday, Jan. 17 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 7.3%, according to the NYS Department of Health.

On Saturday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 2576, an increase of 206 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 153, a drop of 7.

There were 6 new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.

Over the previous seven days, an average of 3,213 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 66%, hospitalizations were up 33% and there had been 80 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
