COVID-19: six deaths, 190 new cases, 5.8% positivity on Jan. 23 in Dutchess County

One hundred ninety new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Saturday, Jan. 23 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 5.8%, according to the NYS Department of Health.

On Friday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 2233, a drop of 189 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 148, an increase of 4.

There were 6 new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.

Over the previous seven days, an average of 3,077 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 38%, hospitalizations were up 2% and there had been 96 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
