Merritt Books in Red Hook closes doors

Scott Meyer, owner of the Merritt Bookstore in Millbrook and in Red Hook, is closing the Red Hook store he opened in 1999. “There’s only room for one in a community,” he said….When Barnes & Noble opened in Ulster, “that took about 25 percent of our sales from Red Hook,” he said.
