Charles Stein to read at Barrytown post office

On Sunday, March 4th at 4 pm, CHARLES STEIN, poet, musician, artist, scholar, performer and long-time resident of Barrytown, will be reading selections from his newest project. Tentatively titled “Views from Tornado Island”, the work is based on an experimental system of codes devised by Stein, and is about 800 pages to date. According to the poet, the poem consists of ‘characters, objects, narratives, narrative fragments, interacting part-ontologies, speeches, lyrics, and texts of greatly varying degrees of gravity and tom foolery.’

Stein may also read selections from his new translation of the Iliad. More events, including concerts, screenings, presentations and performances are in the works for the coming months.
