Village elections uncontested

In Tivoli, trustees Joel Griffith and Mike Leedy are running unopposed for re-election to two-year terms and Village Justice Howard Clark is running unopposed for another four-year term. Griffith was appointed by former trustee and current Mayor Bryan Cranna to finish his term upon his election as mayor in 2011.

In Red Hook, first-year trustee Jennifer Norris is unopposed in a rare even-year election to fill the seat vacated by former trustee and now-Mayor Ed Blundell upon his election as mayor last year. Norris was appointed by Blundell last year.

Elections in both villages will be on the old-style lever machines at village hall as opposed to the special election for the assembly that will use paper ballots and electronic scanning machines. The elections begin at noon and close at 9pm.
