RH police ready new vehicle computer system

Hoping to boost efficiency, the Red Hook Police Department is set to bring its new police vehicle computer system online within the month. Currently, village police officers are required to fill out traffic tickets by hand and manually enter all incidents into the court records. The new system will streamline the process as well as provide additional communication features between cars. Chief James Truitt said that the upgrades were possible because of a $25,000 grant from New York State and a $2,000 donation from the local business Fast Tracks.
