Village planning board reverses approval on bar’s signs

Charlie O’s owner Michael Lueck is headed to the Red Hook village zoning board after the planning board revoked its February 9 approval of his signs.

The restaurant/sports bar, located in the old Lyceum theater site had been cited for too many square feet of signage on the building’s exterior by Village Zoning Enforcement Officer Sam Harkins but received an approval at the February meeting. After discovering its error, the planning board rescinded its approval on April 12. As a result, Lueck will need to visit the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) for a variance or remove enough signs to comply with the zoning limit.
