A proposed new LED sign for the former Getty station was denied by the Red Hook Village Planning Board at its April 12 meeting.
The proposed sign was deemed far too bright to mesh with Red Hook’s style. A more traditional, unlit sign, reading “Best Mart,” was found to be far more acceptable.
The station, on the corner of St. John’s Street and Route 9, will be converted to a Sunoco station once the current reconstruction of the gas island is completed.
