The driver of the August car crash in Pine Plains that killed two students at Stissing Mountain High School has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in the incident.
now 17, was arrested at his Pine Plains home by Dutchess County Sheriff’s detectives Oct. 30 and charged with the class B felony. He was arraigned and released on probation with electronic monitoring, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.
Killed in the one-car crash on Schultz Hill Road were Zachary Pruner, 16, of Stanfordville and Gian Paolo Stagnaro, 17, of Pine Plains. A third passenger, Niall Johnson, 16, also of Pine Plains, was treated and released after the accident, in which Hale lost control of his car, which left the road, struck multiple trees and rolled over.
