Hackett Hill Park will be filled on Saturday with Fall Fest, an annual community celebration complete with craft and food vendors, art and fun for all.
The event is planned for 1-5pm and will include various free activities, including a health and safety fair, a scavenger hunt, a bounce house for kids, a family fun area including games and an obstacle course, pony rides, art displays, a fire truck for children to explore and child IDs provided by the Hyde Park Police.
On stage will be local dance groups, martial arts, a magician and a cake-eating contest throughout the afternoon in roughly 45-minute intervals. Tethered balloon rides and displays of World War II history by the American Veterans Historical Museum are two more attractions.
At 1:30pm, the town recreation department will officially open the new disc golf course. The disc golf course will be open from dawn to dusk. For more information, call the recreation department at 229-8086.
In case of rain, the events will move to Haviland Middle School. For more information, visit the town website.
